A volunteer fire department (VFD) is a fire department of volunteers who perform fire suppression and other related emergency services for a local jurisdiction. Ellingen is a town in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district, in Bavaria, Germany. History It was first mentioned in 899. From 1216 - 1806 it was capital of the Franconian branch of the Teutonic Order and at least for some years residence of the order's grandmaster at the end of 18th century. Stendal () is a district (''Landkreis'') in the north-east of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
