Hodgson Academy (formerly Hodgson School) is a coeducational secondary school located in Poulton-le-Fylde in the English county of Lancashire. Hodgson was inspected by the office for standards in education (OFSTED) as Outstanding, the best a school can be. Hodgson Academy offers GCSEs, BTECs and some AS Level courses as programmes of study for pupils. Most graduating pupils go on to attend Blackpool Sixth Form College or Blackpool and the Fylde College. History The school was established in 1932 and was named after Alderman William Hodgson JP, who was chairman of Lancashire Education Authority at this time. Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is a further and higher education college in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. Facilities include four main campuses located across the Fylde Coast, all of which have recently undergone or are currently undergoing major redevelopment. The college is a Regional Teaching Partner of Lancaster University and offers full and part-time further education, higher education and vocational courses along with apprenticeships. From September 2016 the college also holds its own foundation degree awarding powers. Tony Green (footballer)
Anthony Green (born 30 October 1946) is a Scottish former internationalist professional footballer. At the age of 25 his career ended prematurely in September 1972 due to an injury he received playing for Newcastle United. Albion Rovers Green was born in Glasgow and began his professional career nearby at Albion Rovers in Coatbridge who he joined from school. Green studied maths at the Paisley College of Technology while playing for Albion Rovers. A slightly built, quick, skilful attacker, he was playing internationally at the time for the Scottish youth team set up with whom he formed a left sided attacking partnership with Lex Law. The Blackpool Sixth Form College is a co-educational state funded sixth form college serving the Fylde and surrounding areas in Lancashire, England. The college has around 2,000 full-time students. Poulton-le-Fylde
Poulton-le-Fylde (), commonly shortened to Poulton, is a market town in Lancashire, England, situated on the coastal plain called the Fylde. In the 2001 United Kingdom census, it had a population of 18,264. There is evidence of human habitation in the area from 12,000 years ago and several archaeological finds from Roman settlement in England have been found in the area. At the time of the Norman conquest, Poulton was a small agricultural settlement in the hundred of Amounderness. The church of St Chad was recorded in 1094 when it was endowed to Lancaster Priory. By the post-Medieval period the town had become an important commercial centre for the region with weekly and triannual markets.
