Ho Sin Tung
Ho Sin Tung (; born 1986) is a visual artist who lives and works in Hong Kong. Background Ho was born in Hong Kong, and grew up in Tai Po before moving further north near Lok Ma Chau. Ho began her artistic training at the age of three when she attended workshops in the studio of Hong Kong painter Gaylord Chan (陳餘生). She graduated with a BFA from the Fine Arts Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008. Ho participated in SeMA Mediacity Biennale Seoul (2014) and the 9th Shanghai Biennale (2012), and received Hong Kong Arts Development Award 2012 – Award for Young Artist and Hong Kong Contemporary Art Award 2012. Ho’s work is multidisciplinary and cross-media. She uses a variety of texts and materials and weaves impressions of varied objects, stories, movies, as well as personal memories and imaginations into various forms of representations. Tai Po is an area in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It refers to the vicinity of the traditional market towns in the area presently known as Tai Po Old Market or Tai Po Kau Hui () (the original "Tai Po Market") on the north of Lam Tsuen River and the Tai Po Hui (the current Tai Po Market; historically Tai Wo Shi, literally ''Tai Wo market'') on Fu Shin Street on the south of the Lam Tsuen River, near the old Tai Po Market railway station of the Kowloon-Canton Railway (British Section). Lok Ma Chau
Lok Ma Chau or Lokmachau is an area in Hong Kong's New Territories. It is the site of a major pedestrian (linked directly to the Hong Kong rapid transit network) and road border crossing point between Hong Kong and mainland China. Administratively, most of the Lok Ma Chau area is located within the Yuen Long District of Hong Kong. Geography Lok Ma Chau lies just south of the Sham Chun River (or Shenzhen River in Mandarin), which forms the border between Hong Kong and mainland China. The Department of Fine Arts of the Faculty of Arts, Chinese University of Hong Kong, was founded in 1957 as part of New Asia College. History The department was founded in 1957 within New Asia College. It initially offered a two-year study programme. Chambers Fine Art is an art gallery based in New York City and Beijing that specializes in Chinese contemporary art. Opened in New York in 2000 by Christophe Mao. The Vermont Studio Center (VSC) is a non-profit arts organization located in the town of Johnson, Vermont. It conducts the largest fine arts and writing residency program in the United States, with a significant population of international artists in residency. It was developed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and aims to promote visual arts by providing a platform for art exhibitions, forums and other art-related activities.
