Ho Hau-cheung
Ho Hau-cheung, SBS, BBS, MH () (born 1952) was the Chairman of Sha Tin District Council between 2012 and 2019. He was the District Councillor for the Lower Shing Mun constituency, and stepped down at the 2019 District Council elections. He was equally convenor of the Civil Force Civil Force () is a district-based pro-Beijing political party in Hong Kong. Since 2014, the Civil Force has entered an alliance with the New People's Party of Regina Ip. The Silver Bauhinia Star (, SBS) is the second Bauhinia Star rank in the honours system of Hong Kong, awarded to people who have taken a leading part in public affairs or voluntary work over a long period. The award was created in 1997 to replace the British honours system (such as Order of the British Empire) after the transfer of sovereignty to People's Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Ching Cheung-ying
Ching Cheung-ying (, born 31 May 1958) is a Hong Kong politician and retired schoolteacher. He is formerly the representative of the Sun Tin Wai constituency of Sha Tin District Council and the former chairperson of the Council. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Teaching career Ching was a Chinese Language and Chinese History teacher at Diocesan Boys' School. In 2002, he opposed the school's move from a free-of-charge Grant School to a fee-paying Direct Subsidy Scheme school. He criticized the move as a unilateral decision which sidelined teachers from the decision-making process, citing an internal secret ballot which showed that 70% of the school's teachers opposed the move. He argued that the Direct Subsidy Scheme excluded poor families from high-quality education and reduced social mobility.
