Kamran Inan (1929 – 23 November 2015), Turkish politician, statesman of Kurdish origin, diplomat and scholar. He was born in Hizan, Bitlis Province. Xelîlê Sêrtî
Xelîlê Sêrtî (1754–1843) was a Kurdish mullah and author most known for his contributions to the Kurdish madrasas. He wrote in Arabic and Kurdish and his main works are ''Nehcu'l-Enam'' and ''Rîsaleya Tecwîdê.'' Biography Xelîlê Sêrtî was born in the village of Gulpik of Hizan near Bitlis in 1754 and moved to Siirt early in his life. He was given the name Sêrtî as he lived in Siirt when he became a known figure. He studied in Gevaş, Cizre, Xoab and Amadiya and received his scientific license in Amadiya. Bitlis Province ( tr, , , ku, Parêzgeha Bidlîsê) is a province of eastern Turkey, located to the west of Lake Van. The province is considered part of Western Armenia by Armenians. The province is considered part of Turkish Kurdistan and has a Kurdish majority. The current Governor of the province is Oktay Çağatay. Badh Ibn Dustak
Abu ʿAbdullah al-Husayn ibn Dustak al-Harbukhti, Abu Shudjaʿ, or simply Baḍ or Baz (died 991) was a Kurdish tribal leader and one of the most important founders of the Marwanid emirate through the maternal line. Early life Baḍ was most likely born in the medieval Kurdish village called Xîzan and Sêrt, southwest of Lake Wan. Not much is known about his personal life. As an adult, Baḍ was originally the leader of a group of armed men, a warband perhaps. He supposedly inherited his father's domains, which was a Kurdish tribal federation centered around the towns of Sêrt and Bedlîs that formally acted as a vassal to the Hamdanids. Bitlis
Bitlis ( hy, Բաղեշ '; ku, Bidlîs; ota, بتليس) is a city in southeastern Turkey and the capital of Bitlis Province. The city is located at an elevation of 1,545 metres, 15 km from Lake Van, in the steep-sided valley of the Bitlis River, a tributary of the Tigris. The local economy is mainly based on agricultural products which include fruits, grain and tobacco. Industry is fairly limited, and deals mainly with leatherworking, manufacture of tobacco products as well as weaving and dyeing of coarse cloth. Felicity Party
The Felicity Party ( tr, Saadet Partisi, SP) is an Islamist Turkish political party. It was founded in 2001, and mainly supported by conservative Muslims in Turkey. Mullah
Mullah (; ) is an honorific title for Shia and Sunni Muslim clergy or a Muslim mosque leader. The term is also sometimes used for a person who has higher education in Islamic theology and sharia law.
