Hiyy Rohvaanulaa
''Hiyy Rohvaanulaa'' is a 2009 Maldivian drama film written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Produced by Mohamed Abdulla under Dhekedheke Ves Productions, the film stars Shafeeu, Niuma Mohamed, Abdulla Muaz and Nadhiya Hassan in pivotal roles. Plot Zeeshan (Niuma Mohamed) and Najoo ( Nadhiya Hassan), two college students, visit a nearby island to do their practicum and they are being supervised by school's senior supervisor Shiyan (Yoosuf Shafeeu). He falls in love with Zeeshan and profess his love for her though she is petrified to romantically involve with anyone. After two weeks of teaching practicum, they leave the island without giving a proper reply to Shiyan's proposal. Weeks later, Zeeshan called Shiyan and agrees to marry him. After their wedding, they go to picnic to an uninhabited island where he is unexpectedly hit by a coconut while sleeping beneath a palm tree. Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Hussain Sobah
Hussain Sobah (11 November 1972) is a Maldivian film actor, music composer and playback singer. Career In 1995, Sobah featured in Mohamed Shiyaz's '' Dhushman'' alongside Mariyam Nisha, Aminath Rasheedha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. In the film, he plays the character Riyaz, an underprivileged young man who loses his girlfriend over social discrimination. Hamid Ali's '' Badhal'' was released in 1996, in which he starred alongside Ali, Niuma Mohamed and Waleedha Waleed as a twin; a mentally challenged young man with an immature attitude. Sobah also appeared opposite Aishat Shirani in a Television Maldives production, '' Fun Asaru'' (1996) which follows two women; one searching for her mother and one fighting cancer.
