Gaumee Film Awards
The Gaumee Film Awards aka Dhivehi Film Awards are presented by National Centre for the Arts to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Maldivian film industry. The Gaumee Film Award ceremony is the oldest film events in Maldives. The ceremony had been sponsored by various private organisations in the past as well as in present provisions. A live ceremony was broadcast to television audiences. History A meeting was arranged at MCM on 30 October 1993, once the government decides to hold a Film Festival to honor the film industry. The awards were first introduced in 1994. Out of the twenty two people invited from the fraternity, only ten people showed up for the meeting. ''Zalzalaa En'buri Aun'' is a 2010 horror film written, produced and directed by Ahmed Nimal. Produced under Nims Films, the film stars Yoosuf Shafeeu, Sheela Najeeb and Mohamed Manik in pivotal roles. The film was released on 26 April 2010. It is a spin-off to Aslam Rasheed's horror classic film ''Zalzalaa'' (2000) starring, Ibrahim Wisan, Ali Shameel and Niuma Mohamed. The entire film is shot at B. Goidhoo. It took eight months to be completed and ready for release. Plot Ahmed Hamza (Yoosuf Shafeeu) visited an uninhabited island near B. Kamadhoo to develop a fish plant. Mumthaz Moosa
Mumthaz Moosa is a Maldivian former singer. Career Mumthaz was first heard in the early 2000s where he appeared in some of the local stage shows being performed at that time. After his talent was recognized by the music directors, he was offered to record several songs for studio albums and feature films where the songs "Reydhuvaa Gunamun" from ''Rasfarihi'' (2003) and "Hibakuramey" from ''Saahil'' (2004) were some of his earlier releases in his professional career.
