Hixton is a village in Jackson County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Trempealeau River. The population was 433 at the 2010 census. The village is located within the Town of Hixton. History The community was started by John L. Hixson–Mixsell House
The Hixson–Mixsell House, also known as the Springtown Stagecoach Inn, is a historic building at 157 County Route 519 in the village of Springtown, in Pohatcong Township, Warren County, New Jersey. The main block was built , with a rear wing built between and 1840. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 12, 2014 for its significance in architecture. With accompanying 28 photos. History In the 1760s, a land tract along the Pohatcong Creek, including the site of this house and the future village of Springtown, was purchased by Joseph Hixson. The Hixson–Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is the fine and performing arts college at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (NU) in Lincoln, Nebraska. The college was established on July 1, 1993 as the College of Fine and Performing Arts, combining arts-focused programs from across the university. It was renamed in 2000 after receiving an $18 million donation from Christina Hixson and Lied Foundation Trust.
