Fussball Club Basel 1893 has a long and illustrious history, that spans the period from 1893 to the present day. Having competed at the highest level of football in Switzerland for most of this time, FCB currently play in the Swiss Super League. The club was founded on 15 November 1893. Due to its size the history of FC Basel has been divided into five sections. This is the fifth section and deals with the financial backing that had been put into the club at that time, the move to the new stadium St. Jakob-Park, how success returned and how things have progressed to the present day. Edmond N'Tiamoah
Edmond N'Tiamoah (born 1 February 1981 in Swedru) is a Ghanaian former footballer who played as striker. He is now the logistics manager for the confectionery firm Bachmann in Switzerland. Career Early years Born in Swedru Ghana N'Tiamoah moved to France with his family while he was still at a young age and since then he also holds a French passport. He played his youth football with local club Mulhouse advancing regularly towards their first team, who played in the French second-tier until they suffered relegation in the 1998–99 season. Marco Tschopp (* 20 January 1978) is a retired Swiss footballer who played as midfielder or attacking midfielder in the 1990s and 2000s. Club career Tschopp played in the youth team of his local side Basel and joined their first team during their 1995–96 season signing his first professional contract under head-coach Claude Andrey.
