Hirslanden Private Hospital Group
Hirslanden is Switzerland's largest private hospital group. As of 1 July 2017, the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group consists of 17 hospitals in 11 districts, many of which have an integrated outpatient surgery centre and emergency department. It has around 2 000 affiliated doctors and 9 920 permanent employees, 484 of whom are doctors. During the 2016/17 financial year, Hirslanden recorded a turnover of CHF 1'704 million. The distribution of patients for this year included 44.8% of patients with basic insurance, 31.2% of patients with semi-private insurance and 24,0% of patients with private insurance. The Hirslanden Private Hospital Group was formed in 1990 following the merger of several private clinics. The South African hospital group Mediclinic International bought it in 2007. Hirslanden Clinique La Colline is a Swiss hospital located in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in 1903, it has been part of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group since 2014. History In 1903, a group of nuns from the Trinitarian Order of Avignon, forced to leave France as a result of religious persecution, took up residence in Geneva. Aided by local doctors, they founded a home to care for sick people of all religious beliefs. This home was Clinique La Colline, and included 15 rooms. In 1904 the first operating room was installed. Geneva doctors schooled the nuns in how to provide medical care. Clinique La Colline’s success meant that it very rapidly became necessary to build an annex, in order to have more rooms, and add a second operating room. Heiden is a village and a municipality in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland. Its Biedermeier village around the church square is listed as a heritage site of national significance. History Heiden is first mentioned in 1461 as ''guot genant Haiden''. Heiden, Lutzenberg, and Wolfhalden originally were parts of a single municipality named the Kurzenberg. Around 1650, Heiden and Wolfhalden could not agree about control over the local church. This led to the creation of a separate church in each village in 1652, making them independent.
