Hiroaki Sakurai
is a Japanese anime director and bassist who is known for his work in ''UFO Baby'' and the ''Di Gi Charat'' series. He has served as the director for series such as ''Nanaka 6/17'', ''Cromartie High School'', '' Les Misérables: Shōjo Cosette'', ''GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class'', ''Maid Sama!'', ''Nekogami Yaoyorozu'', '' Jewelpet Happiness'', '' The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.'', and ''The Demon Girl Next Door''. He is married to Sayuri Ōba, an anime screenwriter. Career Sakurai was in college for 5 and a half years and spent his time playing in bands and bassist auditions. Kodocha
, also known as ''Kodocha'' for short, is a Japanese manga series by Miho Obana. The series was adapted as an OVA by J.C. Staff and released on December 16, 1995 by Shueisha under their Ribon Video label. An anime television series was produced by NAS and TV Tokyo, animated by Studio Gallop, and broadcast on TV Tokyo every Friday from April 5, 1996 to March 27, 1998. In 2002, the manga was published in North America in English by Tokyopop as ''Kodocha: Sana's Stage''. In 2006, Tokyopop lost the license to the manga, leaving it out of print. In 2005, the first half of the anime series was licensed for North American distribution by Funimation Entertainment and has been released on DVD. Di Gi Charat Nyo!
is a Japanese anime and an alternate version of ''Di Gi Charat''. The series features Dejiko, and Puchiko, two catgirls who travel to Earth, for princess training, where they are accidentally split up. 104 12-minute episodes were produced by Madhouse and aired as fifty-two episodes between April 6, 2003 and March 28, 2004 on TV Tokyo. Hiroaki Sakurai, director of the original series, returned as the director. Di Gi Charat Nyo! was licensed by Bandai Entertainment in North America. Plot Di Gi Charat, or Dejiko for short, is the princess of planet Di Gi Charat. Her lazy behaviour is troublesome for her servants and tutors as she "eye-beams" them as they lecture her. In order to get Dejiko to become a good princess, her mother sends her on a trip to earth for princess training. Bi Kyo Ran
is a progressive rock band from Japan which began in 1973. They gained some attention when they performed the soundtrack to Cromartie High School (under the pseudonym of Bikyoran). They also performed the ending theme for the show (entitled "Trust Me"); however the opening theme was by Yoshida Takuro. Their sound is often compared with King Crimson (they started as a King Crimson tribute band) which is understandable given guitarist Kunio Suma's emulation of Fripp's renowned style and some similarity in song titles ("Vision of the City", "21st Century Africa"). Akitaro Daichi
is a Japanese anime director, producer and photography director. Career Daichi is a native of Gunma Prefecture and a graduate of Tokyo Polytechnic University. He originally aspired to be a stage photographer, but entered the employ of Tokyo Animation Film, an anime photography company. His first work in the industry was as photography director for the ''Doraemon'' movie ''History of Nobita's Outer Space Trailblazing'' (ドラえもん のび太の宇宙開拓史). After five years, Daichi changed jobs and worked for a video production company making karaoke videos among other things, but he later returned to the anime industry and focused on direction.
