Hiran Mitra
Hiran Mitra (born 1945) is an artist based in Kolkata (West Bengal, India). He left his ancestral country home in Kharagpur to study Fine Art in the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata at the age of 14. His paintings are energetic abstract gestural paintings with the choreography of the human body observed from folk dance having influenced his recent calligraphic forms . He has contributed significantly to the visual stimulus in eastern Indian films, television, theatre and literature since in the 1980s [. He is also known to have defined a benchmark for book cover design for contemporary Bengali literature. His paintings are statements on the human condition and the twilight zones of reality and time. Bold brush strokes, layered washes and sprays and unconventional use of acrylic and industrial paints characterize his paintings. Aabaar Bochhor Kuri Pore
Aabaar Bochhor Kuri Pore(') is a Bengali album by various musical groups and artists with a collaboration by the rock band Moheener Ghoraguli. It was released in 1995 by Asha Audio at Kolkata. This album is not an original Moheen's album, like their earlier releases. It was released nearly twenty years after the last album by the group had been released in 1979. Many of the songs were not composed by Moheener Ghoraguli, and none of them were sung by the group. Where Moheener Ghoraguli acted as an umbrella to bring disparate bands and individuals together and provided a platform to these upcoming talents of the Bengali music scene to perform. Since their last album, most of the Moheener Ghoraguli members had moved ahead with their careers and lives, and so the only person involved in the making of this, and the next three albums, was Gautam Chattopadhyay. Padatik (Indian Theatre Group)
Shyamanand Jalan (13 January 1934 – 24 May 2010) was a Kolkata-based Indian theatre director, and actor. He is credited for the renaissance period of modern Indian theatre and especially the Hindi theatre in Kolkata from the 1960s to 1980s. He was the first to perform modernist Mohan Rakesh, starting with ''Ashadh Ka Ek Din'' (One Day in Ashad) in 1960 and in the coming years bridged the gap between Hindi theatre and Bengali theatre, by mounting Hindi productions of works by Bengali playwrights, like Badal Sircar's ''Evam Indrajit'' (1968) and ''Pagla Ghora'' (1971), which in turn introduced Sircar to rest of the country. In 2005, he directed his first and only film ''Eashwar Mime Co.'', which was an adaptation of Dibyendu Palit's story, ''Mukhabhinoy'', by Vijay Tendulkar.
