Hinda Miller
Hinda Miller, ''nee'' Schreiber (born April 18, 1950 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a former Democratic member of the Vermont State Senate, representing the Chittenden senate district. Hinda Miller was elected to the Vermont State Senate in 2002 and served until 2013. She finished second in the 2006 Burlington mayoral election behind Progressive Bob Kiss. Miller helped develop the sports bra. The first general exercise bra, initially called a "jockbra", was invented in 1977 by Lisa Lindahl and theater costume designer Polly Smith with the help of Miller, who was Smith's assistant and was then called Hinda Schreiber. It was later renamed a “jogbra”. In 1990, Playtex purchased Jogbra from Lindahl and her partners. New York University (NYU) is a private research university in New York City. Chartered in 1831 by the New York State Legislature, NYU was founded by a group of New Yorkers led by then-Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin. New England Culinary Institute
The New England Culinary Institute (NECI) was a private for-profit culinary school in Montpelier, Vermont. It was founded on June 15, 1980, by Fran Voigt and John Dranow. The first NECI class, conducted by Chef Michel LeBorgne, had seven students. The enrollment rose to approximately 800 in 1999, but fell to 500 in 2015 and to around 300 at the beginning of 2017. A second campus was operated in Essex, Vermont, from August 1989 through August 2009. The institute ran a number of restaurants in Montpelier, and also provided food service for Vermont College and National Life. It is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. By the 2010s, enrollment in culinary institutes in the United States was in decline, and culinary programs nationwide were closing. The institute discontinued all credit-bearing academic programs in the summer of 2021.
