''Himmelblå'' (in English: ''Blue sky'') was a Norwegian drama series that aired on NRK1 in Norway, on SVT in Sweden and on RÚV in Iceland. It is based on the British TV drama ''Two Thousand Acres of Sky'' written by Timothy Prager and produced by Adrian Bate. Synopsis Himmelblå is about a small community on Ylvingen, a remote island in northern Norway. The island's future is uncertain because the small school on the island will close unless they can find two additional pupils. The islanders place an advertisement in a national newspaper, promoting a family with two children old enough to join the school and promoting a job in the tourism industry if the family chooses to live on the island. Marit (Line Verndal), a single mother living in Oslo, works late-nights as a chef and feels that she doesn't see her children often enough. Lena Kristin Ellingsen
Lena Kristin Ellingsen (born 14 September 1980) is an actress from Saltdal, Norway. She graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 2004 and Bårdar Akademiet in 2001. She has worked in Riksteatret, Oslo Nye Teater, Det Norske Teatret and Teatret Vårt in Molde. She starred as Karoline (Brynjar's daughter) in ''Himmelblå'' (English: '' Blue Sky Blue''), a Norwegian drama series which has aired on NRK1 in Norway, on SVT in Sweden and RÚV in Iceland. In the fifteenth episode of ''Himmelblå'', Ellingsen sings the opening theme for the TV series as Karoline (her role in the series) in the town's pavilion alongside Halfdan Sivertsen, a famous singer. ''Two Thousand Acres of Sky '' is a TV drama which aired on BBC Television from 2001 to 2003. It was created and written by Timothy Prager. The Executive Producer was Adrian Bate. The show takes place on the fictional island of Ronansay off the coast of Skye. The actual filming location was the sea-side village of Port Logan. Ylvingen
Ylvingen is an island in the municipality of Vega in Nordland county, Norway. The island lies just off the west coast of Norway, between the island of Vega and the mainland. In 2017, there were 25 residents on the island. The island is connected by fast ferry to the mainland towns of Brønnøysund and Sandnessjøen, and to the island of Vega and the mainland by car ferry, all operated by Torghatten Trafikkselskap. Iren Reppen (born 19 December 1965) is a Norwegian actress. She graduated from Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 1990. Her debut was in the play «Romeo and Juliet» ved Trøndelag Teater in 1990. She has since worked at Det Norske Teatret (the Norwegian Theater), and other theatres.
