Hillside Village (formerly Uptown Village at Cedar Hill) is a open-air regional shopping mall in Cedar Hill, Texas, a suburb of Dallas in the United States. It is located at FM 1382 and U.S. Highway 67 adjacent to Uptown Boulevard and Pleasant Run Road. History The MGHerring Group broke ground on the project in June 2006 and it opened on March 12, 2008. Uptown Village at Cedar Hill was the first mall to open in the suburban region of Dallas County known as the Best Southwest, which includes the cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster. Cedar Hill is a city in Dallas and Ellis counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located approximately southwest of downtown Dallas and is situated along the eastern shore of Joe Pool Lake and Cedar Hill State Park. Southlake Town Square is a shopping precinct located in the city of Southlake, in the U.S. state of Texas. Owned and managed by Kite Realty Group. History The plans to develop open pastures into an upscale downtown for the City of Southlake began in the 1990s. Shortly after plans were approved by the city council, Cooper & Stebbins began developing phase I of the Southlake Town Square master plan. Firewheel Town Center is a open-air regional shopping mall in Garland, Texas. The mall is located on the northeast corner of President George Bush Turnpike and State Highway 78. The mall opened on October 7, 2005. Although "coming soon" signs first appeared in 1984, actual construction did not begin until early 2003. It was completed in 2005 and is owned by the Simon Property Group. Unlike a traditional mall, Firewheel Town Center was designed in the new urbanism style. Similar area shopping centers include Southlake Town Square, The Shops at Legacy, Uptown Village at Cedar Hill, The Shops at Highland Village, and The Village at Allen.
