Hilde Gunn Olsen
Hilde Gunn Olsen (born 2 March 1992) is a Norwegian footballer, who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Amazon Grimstad. Personal life Olsen is from Flekkerøy in Kristiansand. Career She first played internationally as an under-15, and continued to feature for Norway through U23 level. Olsen has played for Amazon Grimstad, AIK Fotboll Dam, Klepp IL, Røa IL and Fløy. Olsen made two appearances for Swedish club Linköpings FC in the 2014–15 UEFA Women's Champions League. In June 2015, Olsen terminated her contract with Arna Biørnar by mutual consent. In July, during the FA Women's League mid-season break, she signed for Sunderland. In September 2017, Olsen transferred to Ayia Napa FC. In 2018, whilst playing for Lyn, she refused to support a gay pride initiative in which players held up posters before a Toppserien match with Vålerenga. She was the only player who refused. Vålerenga Fotball Damer is the women's association football, women's football branch of Vålerenga Fotball. Based in Oslo, the team plays in Norway's top league, Toppserien. The team first won promotion to Toppserien in 2011 Norwegian First Division (women), 2011 after earning promotion from the Norwegian First Division (women), First Division. This made Vålerenga the third Norwegian club with both a men's team and a women's team in the top-tier league, and the first club to have its own women's team win promotion to Toppserien, as the two other clubs, Stabæk Fotball and Lillestrøm SK, inherited another club's women's team. The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). No teams from Northern-Norway (''Nord-Norge'') played, however. The winners of the three groups met each other for a play-off. Regional leagues for women had been played before 1984, and a championship play-off had been done between the winners of Mid-Norway and Eastern-Norway in 1983 (Trondheims-Ørn beat Setskog 2-1), but this championship was considered unofficial by the Football Association of Norway.
