''Hikari'' (stylized as ''hikari'') is the fifth and first major studio album by Japanese visual kei rock band SID, released on July 1, 2009 by Ki/oon Music. The single " Uso" is a ending theme of Fullmetal Alchemist and " Monochrome no Kiss" is the first opening theme of Black Butler. Commercial performance ''Hikari'' reached number two on Oricon Albums Chart. In July 2009, it was certified gold disc by RIAJ. As of July 8, 2009, it has sold more than 150,000 copies. Sid (band)
is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in 2003 and signed to Sony Records. Background SID (シド) was founded in 2003 by vocalist Mao (ex-Shula) and bassist Aki (ex-Ram Rem). They were joined by two support members, guitarist Shinji (ex-Uranus) and drummer Yuuya (ex-Shula). The four of them released the band's first demo CD, ''Yoshigai Manabu 17-sai (Mushoku)'' (吉開学 17歳 (無職)), on mini-disc that August and soon after, they signed on with Danger Crue Records. Though SID technically began in 2003, the band considers January 14, 2004 the date of their 'birth' as it was announced at their show at the Meguro Rock May Kan that Shinji and Yuuya would be joining as official members. It was released in three editions: the regular edition and the limited editions A and B. "Monochrome no Kiss" (モノクロのキス) is a single by Japanese visual kei rock band Sid, released on October 29, 2008, by Ki/oon Records. It is the first theme song of ''Black Butler''. "Monochrome no Kiss" was included on the album ''Hikari'' and on ''Sid 10th Anniversary Best'' and ''SID Anime Best 2008-2017'' compilations. It is ending theme of ''Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood'' anime, and often considered the band's most successful song. Visual Kei
is a movement among Japanese musicians that is characterized by the use of varying levels of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics, similar to Western glam rock. Some Western sources consider visual kei a music genre, with its sound usually related to glam rock, punk rock and heavy metal. However, visual kei acts play various genres, including those considered by some as unrelated to rock such as electronic, pop, etc. Other sources, including members of the movement themselves, state that it is not a music genre and that the freedom of expression, fashion, and participation in the related subculture is what exemplifies the use of the term. The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. It was founded in 1942 as the Japan Phonogram Record Cultural Association, and adopted its current name in 1969.
