Higino A. Acala, Sr.
Higino "Inong" Anoya Acala Sr. (January 11, 1925 – September 20, 1968) was a Filipino lawyer and civil servant. He was one of the key persons and important characters in the creation of " Bugho for Municipal Movement" during the mid-1950s. Upon the conversion of Bugho as independent town, thru the influence of Speaker Daniel Z. Romualdez he was installed as the first Municipal election Officer of then Bugho town, and served later as Municipal registrar. Early life Acala was born in Brgy. Calbasag in Julita, Leyte and was the seventh of the eleven siblings of six girls and seven boys. Julita, Leyte
Julita (IPA: u'lɪtɐ, officially the Municipality of Julita ( war, Bungto han Julita; tl, Bayan ng Julita), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 15,598 people. Julita is 47 kilometers from Tacloban, the capital city of Eastern Visayas. It is located between the municipalities of Dulag and Burauen. The municipality of Julita was created through Presidential Executive Order No. 278 in 1949 under President Elpidio Quirino. Making it the second town after La Paz that parted its way to become independent from its maiden town Burauen. Agriculture is the main industry in the area, especially rice and coconut production.
