Highway 160 (Wisconsin)
State Trunk Highway 160 (often called Highway 160, STH-160 or WIS 160) is a state highway in the US state of Wisconsin. It runs in east–west in east-central Wisconsin from Angelica to Pulaski. Route description Starting at WIS 29/WIS 55 junction in Angelica, WIS 160 travels eastward. After under , WIS 160 ends at WIS 32 in Pulaski. In 1930, four years after WIS 16 was renumbered WIS 29, both WIS 29 and WIS 160 switched places. However, WIS 160 ended up traveling from WIS 29 in Angelica to WIS 32 in Pulaski. Angelica is a town in Shawano County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,635 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Angelica, Frazer Corners, Krakow, and Zachow are located partially in the town. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.6 square miles (94.8 km), of which 36.6 square miles (94.8 km) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km) (0.05%) is water. Demographics As of the 2000 census, there were 1,635 people, 585 households, and 468 families in the town. The population density was 44.7 people per square mile (17.2/km). There were 600 housing units at an average density of 16.4 per square mile (6.3/km). The racial makeup of the town was 98.35% White, 0.06% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.06% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. Pulaski, Wisconsin
Pulaski is a village in Brown, Oconto, and Shawano counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,539 at the 2010 census. Of this, 3,321 were in Brown County, 218 in Shawano County, and none in Oconto County. The Brown and Oconto County portions of Pulaski are part of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The village was named after the Polish Revolutionary War general Casimir Pulaski, who was responsible for creating America's first cavalry. Shawano County (pronounced SHAW-no) (originally Shawanaw County) is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 40,881. Its county seat is Shawano. Shawano County is included in the Shawano, WI Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Green Bay-Shawano, WI Combined Statistical Area. History Its name is from a modified Ojibwa term meaning "southern"; it was the southern boundary of the Ojibwa nation. A Menominee chief named ''Sawanoh'' led a band that lived in the area. Many citizens of Shawano believe the lake, county, and city (Town of Shawanaw founded 1853 and changed to Shawano in 1856), were named after Chief Sawanoh. Brown County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 268,740, making it the fourth-most populous county in Wisconsin. The county seat is Green Bay, making it one of three Wisconsin counties on Lake Michigan not to have a county seat with the same name.
