Highmead School
Highmead School is a former school building, in Highmead near Llanybydder, west Wales; it stands near the River Teifi. It was built in 1777, as a mansion. It was then converted into a local boarding school in 1956. In 1996, the school closed, and it remains unused. The school was called the 'European Institute of Human Sciences' (EIHU) and was an Islamic college for Islamic studies, including the Arabic language Arabic (, ' ; , ' or ) is a Semitic language spoken primarily across the Arab world.Semitic languages: an international handbook / edited by Stefan Weninger; in collaboration with Geoffrey Khan, Michael P. Highmead
Highmead is a small village in the community of Llanwenog, Ceredigion, Wales, which is 59.2 miles (95.3 km) from Cardiff and 177.7 miles (286 km) from London. Llanybydder
Llanybydder (, sometimes formerly spelt ''Llanybyther'') is a market town and community straddling the River Teifi in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. At the 2011 Census, the population of the community was 1638, an increase from 1423 at the 2001 Census. Llanybydder is located around southwest of Lampeter and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The Mynydd Llanllwni (408 m) and Mynydd Pencarreg (415 m) mountains are respectively located to the south and east of Llanybydder. Etymology The name may be a corruption of 'Llanbedr', the church dedicated to St Peter; or of 'Llanybyddair', the church of the Ambuscade. Alternately, the town's name is a combination of Welsh ' "church" + ' "the" + ', the plural form of ' "deaf", meaning "the church of the deaf ones". This may be in reference to a congregation whose deaf ears were opened by the call of the preacher or who remained deaf even upon hearing it.
