''Higher'' is a studio album by Polish singer Ala Boratyn, released in 2007 under the mononym Ala. Overview It was Ala's debut solo release after the departure from Blog 27 in October 2006, and remains her only full-length solo album to date. The material consists of pop rock material with elements of electronica, ska and reggae. Ala co-wrote most songs herself and collaborated with musicians from Polish rock bands T.Love and Hey. The original title of "I Never Know" was "You Don't Know", "Darling" was earlier known as "Big Chance", and "Strange New Feeling" is a re-worked version of "Ska". "Angel" was chosen as the first single at the end of 2007, followed by "Don't Believe Them" and "The Shadow Lands" in 2008. "Angel" enjoyed moderate popularity in the media, but the album was not a commercial success and did not enter Polish weekly albums chart. Ala Boratyn
Ala Boratyn (), also known mononymously as Ala, born Alicja Julia Boratyn on 27 November 1992, is a Polish singer-songwriter. She rose to fame in 2005 as one of the lead singers of Polish girl duo Blog 27. With Blog 27, Boratyn enjoyed success in her native Poland, Central Europe, and Japan. Having departed from the band in 2006, she embarked on a short-lived solo career before becoming member of the bands Wicked Giant, New People and Ala Zastary. Career Boratyn debuted in 2005 as a member of the Polish band Blog 27 which she founded with a childhood friend Tola Szlagowska. The duo achieved commercial success with their debut album ''LOL'' which in 2006 charted in several European countries and Japan. Blog 27 was a Polish Musical ensemble, musical group founded in 2005 by two teenage vocalists Tola Szlagowska and Ala Boratyn performing pop music with elements of pop punk and pop rock. Hey (band)
Hey is a Polish rock band founded in Szczecin in 1991 by guitarist Piotr Banach and lead singer Kasia Nosowska. It is one of the most popular Polish music acts of the 1990s. Although Hey sometimes described themselves as the first Polish grunge band, their melodic, guitar-driven rock and eclectic appearance owed more to new wave and heavy metal influences; their first three albums contained songs in both Polish and English. During the band's mid-1990s heyday, they sold out stadiums throughout Poland, and attempted to break into the English-language market with a series of concerts overseas and an English version of their 1995 album ''?''.
