Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch
Maulana Hidayat Rahman Baloch is a Pakistani politician and social activist from Gwadar from Balochistan. He is currently serving as the provincial general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan chapter. Baloch is also known for the Gwadar protest and for his leadership in the Haq Do Tehreek (HDT), a movement advocating for the rights of the people of Gwadar. He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from the Gwadar constituency in 2024. Early life Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch was born and grew up in Surbandan, a small coastal town in Gwadar District. Career In the 2024 election, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman contested the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan seat PB-24 Gwadar. He won the election by securing 20,925 votes. Provincial Assembly Of Balochistan
The Provincial Assembly of Balochistan is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Balochistan, and is located in Quetta, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan having a total of 65 seats, with 51 general seats, 11 seats reserved for women and 3 reserved for non-Muslims. The Assembly has 51 directly elected Members of the Provincial Assembly, representing constituencies from each district, as well as 11 seats reserved for women and 3 for non-Muslims. The Haq Do Tehreek Balochistan (‘Give rights movement’ abbreviated as HDT or HDTB) is a Pakistani political movement and party active in southern Balochistan, mainly in Gwadar. The party's leader is Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch, who is a veteran Balochi nationalist politician from Gwadar. The party is active in southern port areas of Balochistan and protests issues like illegal fishing. The HDT was founded in 2021 in a coalition of politicians who advocated for human rights for Baloch people in Pakistan. The party heavily campaigned and won a majority of votes in the 2024 Balochistan provincial elections in the Balochistan provincial assembly seat PB-24. Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI; Urdu: , "Islamic Congress"), or Jamaat as it is simply known, is an Islamist political party which is based in Pakistan and it is the Pakistani successor to Jamaat-e-Islami, which was founded in colonial India in 1941. Its objective is the transformation of Pakistan into an Islamic state, governed by Sharia law, through a gradual legal, and political process. Gwadar
Gwadar ( Balochi/ ur, ) is a port city with located on the southwestern coast of Balochistan, Pakistan. The city is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea opposite Oman. Gwadar is the 100th largest city of Pakistan, according to the 2017 census. It was an overseas possession of Oman from 1783 to 1958. It is about southwest of Turbat, while the sister port city of Chabahar in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province is about to the west of Gwadar. On 2 April 2021, Gwadar was declared the capital of the South Balochistan region. The main industrial concern is a fish-processing factory.
