Hichem Chaabane
Hichem Chaabane ( ar, هشام شعبان; born 10 August 1988 in Blida) is an Algerian former professional road cyclist. He represented his nation Algeria at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Career Riding for , Chaabane qualified for the Algerian squad, as a 19-year-old, in the men's road race at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing by receiving a berth and finishing fourth from stage four of Giro del Capo in Cape Town, South Africa. Passing through the km mark, Chaabane could not achieve a best possible result with a severe fatigue under Beijing's intense heat and a lapped violation, as he failed to complete a grueling race against a vast field of nearly a hundred cyclists. Chaabane signed an annual contract with pro cycling team in 2009. Blida
Blida ( ar, البليدة; Berber languages, Tamazight: Leblida) is a city in Algeria. It is the capital of Blida Province, and it is located about 45 km south-west of Algiers, the national capital. The name ''Blida'', i.e. ''bulaydah'', is a diminutive of the Arabic word ''belda'', city. Geography and natural features Blida is known as the city of roses because of the large number of roses in its gardens. The Tour du Faso is a 10-day road bicycle racing stage race held in Burkina Faso in the late fall. The race is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation, which also organises the Tour de France, and since 2005, the race has been part of the UCI Africa Tour. The race was first held in 1987 and until 1998 was reserved for amateurs. Since 2005, it is organised as a 2.2 event on the UCI Africa Tour.
