Hibernian Saints
Hibernian Saints was an American soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1993, the team was a member of the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL), a recognized fourth-division league in the American Soccer Pyramid which features teams from western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. The Saints last participated in the PCSL in 2006. They were the next best soccer in Seattle besides the Sounders while operating. The team played in the PCSL under four different names: Seattle FC (1995), Seattle Hibernian (1996–2004), Hibernian & Caledonian (2005), and Hibernian Saints (2006). The team were PCSL champions four times, in 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2001. The women's team were league cup champions in 2001 and 2005. The women's team merged with the Seattle Sounders Women before the start of the 2006 season. Starfire Sports Complex
Starfire Sports is a multi-purpose stadium and sporting facility in Tukwila, Washington, United States. It is located on the banks of the Green River, just south of Seattle. The stadium is operated by the nonprofit corporation Starfire Sports and is home to several soccer and rugby teams. At the time of its opening, CEO Chris Slatt claimed it was "the largest synthetic-turf soccer complex in the U.S." The MLS team Seattle Sounders FC has offices and training facilities at the complex, and stages Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches at the main stadium. Their affiliate team, Tacoma Defiance, played at Starfire from 2015 to 2017 and return from 2022. Jim McAlister (American Soccer)
Jimmy McAlister (born May 4, 1957) is a U.S. soccer defender during the 1970s and 1980s. He was the 1977 NASL Rookie of the Year and earned six caps with the U.S. national team. Player Professional McAlister was born in Seattle where he attended John F. Kennedy High School. When he graduated in 1976, the Seattle Sounders of the North American Soccer League immediately signed him to play left back. McAlister saw time in only two first team games in 1976, spending most of his time in the reserve team. In 1977, he became an integral part of a strong Sounders team which went to the NASL championship only to lose to the Pelé-led New York Cosmos. McAlister's defensive abilities led to Pelé trading his jersey with McAlister at the end of the game. His outstanding season led to McAlister receiving NASL Rookie of the Year.
