Carly Hibberd
Carly Hibberd (11 May 1985 – 6 July 2011) was an Australian professional road racing cyclist who competed in Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)-sanctioned races. She won the 2008 Australian National Criterium Championships and was second in that year's Tour de Perth. Aged six, Hibberd took up BMX before moving onto mountain biking and then road cycling.through a talent identification scheme. She began riding competitive events in 2004 and went on to compete in several women's events organised by the UCI. Hibberd was hit off her bike by a road car while training in Northern Italy and died from her injuries. A memorial trophy and park in Toowoomba are named after her. James Shirley Hibberd (1825 – 16 November 1890) was one of the most popular and successful gardening writers of the Victorian era. He was a best-selling editor of three gardening magazines, including '' Amateur Gardening'', the only 19th-century gardening magazine still being published today. He wrote over a dozen books on gardening and several more on natural history and related subjects. He promoted town gardening, aquariums, bee-keeping, vegetarianism, water recycling, environmental conservation and the prevention of cruelty to animals and birds, all before they were taken up as 'causes' in the twentieth century. Most important of all, he taught and promoted amateur gardening, before it was acceptable among the gardening establishment, and helped to found the whole consumer industry in amateur gardening that we have today. Julian Michael Hibberd (born December 1969) is a Professor of Photosynthesis at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Dominic Hibberd
John William Dominic Hibberd FRSL (3 November 1941 – 12 August 2012) was an English freelance author, academic and broadcaster, best known for his biographies of the poets Wilfred Owen and Harold Monro and his collections (edited with John Onions) of First World War poetry. He was an Honorary Fellow of the War Poets Association and contributed numerous articles to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Born and brought up in Guildford, he was educated at Rugby School and King's College, Cambridge. He went on to teach at Manchester Grammar School and at universities in Britain, the United States and China, before moving to Oxford and devoting himself full-time to writing. Andrew Stuart Hibberd (5 September 1893 – 1 November 1983) was a British radio personality for 40 years. He is perhaps best known for his announcements of the death of King George V in 1936, and of Adolf Hitler in 1945. Early life Hibberd was the son of W.H. Hibberd, and was born in the town of Broadstone, in Wimborne, Dorset, in South West England, on 5 September 1893. Education Hibberd was educated at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Wimborne Minster, followed by Weymouth College, an independent school for boys in the seaside town of Weymouth in Dorset in South West England. He then won a Choral Scholarship to St John's College at the University of Cambridge. Life and career Hibberd volunteered at the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, becoming an Army officer. Jack Hibberd
John Charles Hibberd (born 12 April 1940 in Warracknabeal, Victoria) is an Australian playwright and physician. Biography Hibberd studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and resided in Newman College. He worked as a registrar in the Department of Social Medicine at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, from 1966 to 1967. He worked as a general practitioner until 1984, then practised as a clinical immunologist. He is married to actress Evelyn Krape, with whom he has two children. He also has two children from his first marriage. Hibberd co-founded the Australian Performing Group (APG) in 1970. He was a member for ten years, and chairman for two. James Hibberd (born 19 April 1981 in Southampton, Hampshire) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and bowled medium-fast. Hibberd made his debut for the Hampshire Cricket Board in the 38-County Cup during the 2000 season, playing his first match against Dorset. He played three matches during the competition, top-scoring with 24 runs. Hibberd made a single List-A appearance for the Hampshire Cricket Board against the Kent Cricket Board during the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.
