''Hi Honey'' is the third studio album by American rock and roll band Low Cut Connie. It was released on April 21, 2015 on Contender Records. Guests who appear on the album include Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards, as well as Dean Ween and Greg Cartwright. Recording ''Hi Honey'' was recorded at a small space owned by Daptone Records and produced by Thomas Brenneck, who is known for his work with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. Critical reception Dave Tomar wrote in the ''Huffington Post'' that ''Hi Honey'' "brims with something more than just the wounded abandon that distinguished previous recordings" and said that it "borrows furiously and confidently from history to deliver an immediate blast of booty-shaking brilliance." Low Cut Connie
Low Cut Connie is an American rock and roll band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Low Cut Connie has become the alter ego for frontman, pianist, and songwriter Adam Weiner, who has been the band's only constant member since its formation. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Stephen Thomas Erlewine (; born June 18, 1973) is an American music critic and senior editor for the online music database AllMusic. He is the author of many artist biographies and record reviews for AllMusic, as well as a freelance writer, occasionally contributing liner notes. Daptone Records is a funk and soul independent record label based in Brooklyn, New York. Best known as the home of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Charles Bradley, the label boasts a roster which includes Menahan Street Band, The Budos Band, The Sugarman 3, and Antibalas, and runs the recording studio Daptone's House of Soul. Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings were an American funk and soul band signed to Daptone Records. They were part of a revival movement of mid-1960s to mid-1970s style funk and soul music.
