Hexi District
Hexi District ( is a district in the south-western corner of urban Tianjin, People's Republic of China. It is bordered by Heping District in the north-west, Hedong District to the north-east and Nankai District to the west. As of 2020, the district has a total population of 822,174. History During the Northern Song dynasty, this area was on the border with Jin, and belonged to the Hechi county. In 1110 it was transferred into Jinghai county, before got merged into Qianning county 3 years later. Following the Jingkang incident, Qianning county was ceded to Jin dynasty, who reinstated Jinghai county. The region remained under the same administrative division through Yuan and Ming dynasty. In 1731, Qing government combined it into the newly created Tianjin county. In 1895, a portion of the region was ceded to Germany as concession. Beiyang Government
The Beiyang government (), officially the Republic of China (), sometimes spelled Peiyang Government, refers to the government of the Republic of China which sat in its capital Peking (Beijing) between 1912 and 1928. It was internationally recognized as the legitimate Chinese government during that time. Machang Subdistrict
Machang Subdistrict () is a subdistrict located on the northwestern corner of Hexi District, Tianjin, China. It shares border with Xinxing and Taoyuan Subdistricts to its north, Xiuyue Road Subdistrict to its east, Tianta and Youyi Road Subdistricts to its south, as well as Shuishang Gongyuan and Xuefu Subdistrict to its west. Taoyuan Subdistrict () is a subdistrict in the northwest of Hexi District, Tianjin.
