Susquehanna County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 38,434 Its county seat is Montrose. The county was created on February 21, 1810, from part of Luzerne County and later organized in 1812. It is named for the Susquehanna River. History Settlement and conflict The first non-Indigenous settlers began to move into the area from Philadelphia and Connecticut in the mid-1700s. At the time, the area was part of Luzerne County. Pennsylvania Route 374 (PA 374) is a state highway located in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. The western terminus is at PA 92 in the community of Glenwood in Lenox Township. The eastern terminus is at PA 171 and PA 371 in the community of Herrick Center near Union Dale in Herrick Township. The route is a two-lane undivided road that passes through rural areas of farms and woods in southern Susquehanna County. PA 374 intersects PA 407 and Interstate 81 (I-81) in Lenox Township and forms a concurrency with PA 106 in Clifford Township. The portion of the route between Dimock Corners and Herrick Center was originally a private turnpike called the Cohecton and Great Bend Turnpike that was chartered in 1804 and completed in 1811. Union Dale is a borough in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The borough was incorporated in 1885. Union Dale's population was 267 at the 2010 census. Geography Union Dale is located at (41.715974, -75.486995). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of , of which is land and (2.4%) is water.
