Hernán Jasen
Hernán "Pancho" Emilio Jasen Cicarelli (born February 4, 1978) is an Argentine-Italian former professional basketball player. Born in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, and standing at a height of 6'6 " (1.99 m) tall, he played mainly at the small forward position, but he could also play at the shooting guard position. Professional career Jasen joined Andino La Rioja of the Argentine League in 1995. He then moved to the Argentine club Estudiantes de Bahía Blanca in 1996. He moved to the Spanish League team Gijón Baloncesto in 1999. In 2001, he then joined the Spanish club Estudiantes, whom he also played with in the Euroleague and the Eurocup competitions. He was later named the captain of Estudiantes. In 2011, he moved to the Spanish club Cajasol. 2011 FIBA Americas Championship
The 2011 FIBA Americas Championship for Men, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Americas, at the 2012 Summer Olympics men's basketball tournament, in London. This FIBA AmeriCup tournament was held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from August 30 to September 11, 2011. Argentina won the title, defeating Brazil, 80–75, in the final match. This was the country's second AmeriCup championship. Host FIBA Americas named Mar del Plata, Argentina the host of the 2011 competition on May 24, 2010 at a meeting in San Juan. Games were played at Polideportivo Islas Malvinas, which seats more than 8,000 fans. Toronto and Rio de Janeiro also bid for the tournament before FIBA awarded the competition to then world number-one ranked Argentina. Demond Greene
Demond Greene (born 15 June 1979) is a German–American professional basketball coach and former player. He played professionally for several seasons in, amongst others, the EuroLeague, the Greek Basket League and the German Basketball Bundesliga. Greene was a member of the Germany national team for several years and appeared with the team on both the FIBA World Championship and the Olympics. Early life Greene was born in Fort Hood, Texas, to an American father and German mother. The family later moved to Aschaffenburg in Germany where he grew up. Professional career Greene played with the number 24 for Bayern Munich from 2010 to 2014. The Germany men's national basketball team (german: Deutsche Basketballnationalmannschaft or ''Die Mannschaft'') represents Germany in international basketball competition. 2010 FIBA World Championship
The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee. It was considered as prestigious a competition as the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Turkey. For the third time (after the 1986 and 2006 tournaments), the World Championship had 24 competing nations. As a result, the group stage games were played in four cities, and the knockout round was hosted by Istanbul. The 2005 FIBA Americas Championship, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup (also known as The Tournament of the Americas), was hosted by the Dominican Republic, from August 24, to September 4, 2005. The games were played in Santo Domingo. This FIBA AmeriCup was to earn the four berths allocated to the Americas for the 2006 FIBA World Championship, in Japan. The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administrated by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the LEB Oro and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs.
