Hernan Lander
Hannah Lander, also known as Hernàn Lander, is a New York City based Dominican Republic fashion designer. Her designs have been featured in Model Latina and worn by celebrities such as Olivia Munn. She was selected as 2010's "Breakout Designer" by Time Out (magazine), Time Out magazine. Education Lander attended Altos de Chavón design school in the Dominican Republic. She obtained a full scholarship to study at the Parsons The New School for Design in Manhattan. Career Lander worked for renown Mexican designer Rogelio Velasco during an internship at his design house, Velasco Couture. Lander has also collaborated with other designers including Derek Lam, Proenza Schouler, and Ralph Lauren. In 2007 she was a finalist in the Gap Inc., Gap Design competition and she also won the Nordstrom competition that same year. She produced and sold her collection from this competition. Proenza Schouler is a womenswear and accessories brand founded in 2002 by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Based in New York City, Proenza Schouler is derived from maiden names of the two designers' mothers: Proenza is the maiden name of Hernandez's mother, and Schouler is the maiden name of McCollough's mother. New York Fashion Week (NYFW), held in February and September of each year, is a semi-annual series of events in Manhattan typically spanning 7–9 days when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press, and the general public. Donna Karan (, born Donna Ivy Faske), also known as "DK", is an American fashion designer and the creator of the Donna Karan New York and DKNY clothing labels. Early life Karan was born Donna Ivy Faske to mother Helen "Queenie" Faske (née Rabinowitz) and father Gabriel "Gabby" Faske (born Faskowitz) in the Forest Hills neighborhood of the Borough of Queens, New York City.
