Der Weg einer Freiheit ("The Way of a Freedom") is a German extreme metal band from Würzburg, formed in 2009 by Tobias Jaschinsky as vocalist and Nikita Kamprad as guitarist and principal songwriter. After the release of two studio albums – ''Der Weg einer Freiheit'' (2009) and ''Unstille'' (2012) – Jaschinsky left the band in 2012 and Kamprad took over vocals. He now performs alongside guitarist Nico Rausch, bassist Nico Ziska and drummer Tobias Schuler. They have released three more studio albums – ''Stellar'' (2015), ''Finisterre'' (2017) and ''Noktvrn'' (2021) – through Season of Mist. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Blackgaze
Blackgaze is a fusion genre combining elements of black metal and shoegaze. The word is a blend of the names of the two genres, described by ''The Guardian'' as "the buzz term for a new school of bands taking black metal out of the shadows and melding its blast beats, dungeon wailing and razorwire guitars with the more reflective melodies of post-rock, shoegaze and post-hardcore." Tim Yatras is an Australian musician, composer and producer, best known as one half of the now defunct black metal duo Austere, and the creator of the black metal/rock/trance act Germ. Biography Yatras was a member of Lord, and prior to that was also a part of Dungeon from February 2005 until their breakup, and appears on the 2006 release, '' The Final Chapter'', performing drums and backing vocals, and co-writing most of the tracks.
