Herbert Bascombe
Herbert Bascome (born 14 July 1964) is a former Bermudian cricketer. He is the current head coach of the Bermuda national cricket team. Playing career Bascome made his debut for Bermuda in a List A match against Trinidad and Tobago in the 1997/98 Red Stripe Bowl, followed by three further List A appearances in that season's competition. He next appeared for Bermuda on their tour to Canada in August 1999, where the team played a number of minor matches. Later in 1999, he made three List A appearances for Bermuda in the 1999/00 Red Stripe Bowl. He played for Bermuda in the 2000 Americas Cricket Cup, making four appearances against Argentina, the Cayman Islands, the United States and hosts Canada. In October 2000, Bascome made four further List A appearances in the 2000/01 Red Stripe Bowl, the last of which came against Guyana. Canada National Cricket Team
The Canada national cricket team represents Canada in international cricket. The team is organised by Cricket Canada, which became an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1968. With the United States, Canada was one of the two participants in the first ever international cricket match, played in New York City in 1844. The annual Canada–U.S. fixture is now known as the Auty Cup. Canada's first international match against a team other than the U.S. came in 1932, when Australia toured. Bermuda National Football Team
The Bermuda national football team represents Bermuda in international football, and is controlled by the Bermuda Football Association, which is a member of the CONCACAF. History 1964–1992 Bermuda played their first international match on 10 August, 1964, against Iceland in Reykjavik, ending in a narrow victory to the Icelanders, 4–3. Some years later, Bermuda played in the 1967 Pan American Games, reaching the final, before being defeated by Mexico, 4–0. Onias Bascome
Onais Greg Lewis Bascome (born 25 May 1995) is a Bermudian international cricketer. He represented the Bermudian national team in two matches at the 2014 World Cricket League Division Three tournament. Bascome is the younger brother of Oronde Bascome, who has also played international cricket for Bermuda. He first played at an international level in July 2013, when he represented the Bermuda under-19s at the 2013 Americas Under-19 Championship in Canada. In August 2014, he represented a combined ICC Americas under-20 team at the West Indian regional under-19 tournament. Bascome's full international debut came at the 2014 WCL Division Three tournament in Malaysia. He appeared in his team's final two matches, against Uganda and the United States. Gus Logie
Augustine Lawrence Logie (born 28 September 1960), commonly known as Gus Logie, is a former West Indies and Trinidad and Tobago cricketer and is currently an international cricket coach. Logie played in the dominant West Indies team of the 1980s as a batsman, though he was almost equally well known as a strong fielder. He made 52 Test appearances and played in 158 One Day Internationals, scoring three international centuries. Career Born and raised in the village of La Brea, Logie enjoyed a successful career with the Trinidad and Tobago and the West Indies. He played for T&T from 1978 to 1992 and went on to captain the side in 1990. He earned the distinction of being chosen as Man of the Match despite him neither batting or bowling in an ODI against Pakistan on 28 November 1986. Clay Smith (cricketer)
Clay James Smith (born 15 January 1971) is a former Bermudian international cricketer who represented the Bermudian national team between 1991 and 2007. He also coached the team from 2015 to 2018. Having debuted for Bermuda in 1991, Smith first came to notice at the 1994 ICC Trophy in Kenya, where he ranked fourth in overall runs scored and helped his team to the semi-finals. He remained one of Bermuda's leading batsmen for over a decade, appearing in another three ICC Trophy tournaments and also in several editions of the West Indian domestic one-day competition (where Bermuda competed as a guest team). In the 1997–98 Red Stripe Bowl, Smith scored two centuries (against the Windward Islands and Jamaica), becoming the first Bermudian to score a List A hundred. Bahamas National Cricket Team
The Bahamas national cricket team is the team that represents The Bahamas in international cricket. The team is organised by the Bahamas Cricket Association (BCA), which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1987 and an associate member in 2017. The national team is first recorded as playing in 1983, but did not feature in an international tournament until 2001, when it played in the inaugural Americas Affiliates Championship. Since then, the Bahamas have regularly participated in ICC Americas tournaments, as well as on one occasion in a World Cricket League event (the 2010 Division Eight tournament). The team was also invited to the 2006 and 2008 Stanford 20/20 tournaments, where matches had full Twenty20 status. Dwayne Leverock
Russell Dwayne Mark Leverock (born 14 July 1971) is a former Bermudian cricketer. Living above an Indian restaurant in Bermuda, Leverock is a jailer. At the 2007 Cricket World Cup he was the largest player to grace the pitch, weighing in at 20 stone (280 pounds or 127 kg). However he is not regarded as the heaviest man to ever play in international cricket. West Indies right-arm off-break bowler Rahkeem Cornwall weighs over 140 kg and Warwick Armstrong weighed about 22 stone. 2001 ICC Trophy
The 2001 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament played in Ontario, Canada in 2001. It was the Cricket World Cup qualification tournament for the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Three spots in the World Cup were on offer and the Netherlands, host nation Canada and for the first time, Namibia all qualified. Scotland failed to qualify losing in the 3rd place play off and finishing fourth. The Netherlands won the final against Namibia. Bowling Average
In cricket, a player's bowling average is the number of runs they have conceded per wicket taken. The lower the bowling average is, the better the bowler is performing. It is one of a number of statistics used to compare bowlers, commonly used alongside the economy rate and the strike rate to judge the overall performance of a bowler.
