Henryk Glücklich
Henryk Glücklich (22 January 1945 – 23 September 2014) was a Polish motorcycle speedway. Career Glücklich appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals three times, finishing fifth in 1970. He also rode in five World Team Cup finals and earned 41 international caps for the Poland speedway team. On 11 March 1972, he set a new track record at the Rostock Speedway, recording 70.8sec. In 1977, Leicester Lions unsuccessfully attempted to sign him to ride in the British leagues, but the following season he did ride for Reading Racers for the 1978 season. Klub Sportowy ROW Rybnik, also known as ROW Rybnik, is a Polish motorcycle speedway team based in Rybnik, which currently competes in Ekstraliga (speedway). Rybnik is one of the oldest and most successful teams in Speedway in Poland, Polish speedway having won the league championship on twelve occasions. ROW is one of the several clubs of the once united ROW Rybnik (multi-sports club), ROW Rybnik multi-sports club. History 1948 to 1959 Speedway in Rybnik has existed since 1930. The 1968 Speedway World Team Cup was the ninth edition of the FIM Speedway World Team Cup to determine the team world champions. The final took place at Wembley Stadium in London. Jan Mucha (16 May 1941 – 15 May 2014) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals four times. Career Mucha was born in Mikołów, Poland. He raced in the Team Speedway Polish Championship for ÅšlÄ…sk ÅšwiÄ™tochÅ‚owice from 1961 to 1979. Antoni Woryna
Antoni Woryna (15 February 1941 – 14 December 2002) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals five times. He earned 47 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Woryna began his speedway career with Rybnik during the 1965 Polish speedway season. He would remain with the club for his entire Polish league career. He was part of the Górnik/ROW Rybnik team that dominated the Team Speedway Polish Championship during the 1960s and were rewarded with United Kingdom tours in 1965, 1966 and 1967. He was the first Polish rider to win a medal at Speedway World Championship, when he won the bronze medal at the 1966 Individual Speedway World Championship. Andrzej Pogorzelski (12 October 1938 – 16 October 2020) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider and coach. Career He started his career in Unia Leszno and represented the club in 1956 and 1973-1976 seasons. While at Unia Leszno he won 2 bronze medals (1975, 1976) on Team Speedway Polish Championship. During the 1957-1961 seasons he rode in Start Gniezno and moved to Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski in winter 1962. While in Stal he won 1 gold (1969) and 5 silver (1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1971) medals in Team Speedway Polish Championship. During riding for Stal he held double record of the track in Gorzow Wielkopolski in seasons 1964 (76.4 sec - 18/10/1964) and 1969 (73.3 sec - 18/05/1969). Rybnik Stadium (Polish - Stadion Miejski w Rybniku) is a motorcycle speedway and association football stadium located in the northern part of Rybnik off Gliwicka 72. The stadium is the home arena of Polish speedway team KS ROW Rybnik who compete in the Team Speedway Polish Championship. The capacity is 10,304 (all seated) and the stadium forms part of the wider complex known as the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center. History The stadium opened in June 1939 and underwent significant redevelopment in the winter of 2000, the track was rebuilt, a new drainage system was installed and renovation of the stands took place. Edward 'Ed' Jancarz (20 August 1946 – 11 January 1992) was a Polish international Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider. He earned 76 international caps for the Poland speedway team.
