ŻKS ROW Rybnik
Klub Sportowy ROW Rybnik, also known as ROW Rybnik, is a Polish motorcycle speedway team based in Rybnik, which currently competes in Ekstraliga (speedway). Rybnik is one of the oldest and most successful teams in Speedway in Poland, Polish speedway having won the league championship on twelve occasions. ROW is one of the several clubs of the once united ROW Rybnik (multi-sports club), ROW Rybnik multi-sports club. History 1948 to 1959 Speedway in Rybnik has existed since 1930. The club competed in the inaugural 1948 Polish speedway season, under the name of RKM Budowlani (builders) Rybnik. They won the silver medal during the 1950 Polish speedway season. As Górnik Rybnik the team won three consecutive titles in 1956 Polish speedway season, 1956, 1957 Polish speedway season, 1957 and 1958 Polish speedway season, 1958. Rybnik Municipal Stadium
Rybnik Stadium (Polish - Stadion Miejski w Rybniku) is a motorcycle speedway and association football stadium located in the northern part of Rybnik off Gliwicka 72. The stadium is the home arena of Polish speedway team KS ROW Rybnik who compete in the Team Speedway Polish Championship. The capacity is 10,304 (all seated) and the stadium forms part of the wider complex known as the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center. History The stadium opened in June 1939 and underwent significant redevelopment in the winter of 2000, the track was rebuilt, a new drainage system was installed and renovation of the stands took place. Further improvements were made to the football pitch in 2013 to meet the requirements of the Polish Football Association. Antoni Woryna
Antoni Woryna (15 February 1941 – 14 December 2002) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals five times. He earned 47 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Woryna began his speedway career with Rybnik during the 1965 Polish speedway season. He would remain with the club for his entire Polish league career. He was part of the Górnik/ROW Rybnik team that dominated the Team Speedway Polish Championship during the 1960s and were rewarded with United Kingdom tours in 1965, 1966 and 1967. He was the first Polish rider to win a medal at Speedway World Championship, when he won the bronze medal at the 1966 Individual Speedway World Championship. Andrzej Wyglenda
Andrzej Wyglenda (born 4 May 1941 in Rybnik, Poland) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. Career Wyglenda has won 1971 Speedway World Pairs Championship and Speedway World Team Cup three times. He was won Polish Individual Speedway Championship, Individual Polish Champion title four times. Wyglenda was part of the RKM Rybnik, Górnik/ROW Rybnik team that dominated the Team Speedway Polish Championship during the 1960s and were rewarded with a United Kingdom tour in 1965 and a tour with the Polish national team in 1967. Joachim Maj
Joachim Maj (21 August 1932 – 20 April 2019) was an international speedway rider from Poland. Speedway career Maj reached the 1958 European Final as part of the 1958 Individual Speedway World Championship. Maj reached the final of the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1962 Speedway World Team Cup where he won a bronze medal. Stanisław Tkocz (1936–2016) was an international speedway rider from Poland. ROW Rybnik (multi-sports Club)
ROW Rybnik was a multi-sports club from Rybnik, Upper Silesia, Poland, founded in 1964. ROW stands for ''Rybnicki Okręg Węglowy'' which means ''The Rybnik Coal District''. It catered for 13 different disciplines upon its establishment. Although no longer one club, several sections have remained active independently, using the "ROW" name. The most popular are the motorcycle speedway and football sections.
