Henry Small (singer)
Henry Cave Small (born February 29, 1948) is an American singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and radio personality. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Small has been a member of four rock bands: Prism, Scrubbaloe Caine, Small Wonder, and the Gainsborough Gallery. With Prism, Small enjoyed some success in the early 1980s. His first studio album with the band was '' Small Change'' (1981). It was the band's most commercially successful studio album on the U.S. '' Billboard'' 200, being their first and only album to make the Top 100. The lead single, " Don't Let Him Know", co-written by Jim Vallance with Bryan Adams, became Prism's first and only Top 40 hit in the US. It went on to peak at number one on the ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 1982, and stayed in the charts for just over four months. ''Beat Street'' is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Prism, released in July 1983 by Capitol Records, two years after Prism's successful studio album, '' Small Change'' (1981). It was the last of two Prism studio albums featuring lead vocalist Henry Small, who had replaced Ron Tabak after his forced departure in 1981. It features high-profile guest backing vocalists, including the Eagles' Timothy B. Schmit, Toto's Bobby Kimball and Chicago's Bill Champlin. The album is notably the band's first album not to feature their guitarist and founding member Lindsay Mitchell. The album was their last recording of original material until they officially reformed in 1987–88. In that line-up of the band, Small was replaced by Darcy Deutsch. David Kershenbaum is an American record producer and entrepreneur, born in Springfield, Missouri. He has worked with many artists including Duran Duran, Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson, Laura Branigan, Bryan Adams, Supertramp, Cat Stevens, Elkie Brooks, and Tori Amos. Loverboy
Loverboy is a Canadian rock band formed in 1979 in Calgary, Alberta. Loverboy's hit singles, particularly " Turn Me Loose" and "Working for the Weekend", have become arena rock staples and are still heard on many classic rock and classic hits radio stations across Canada and the United States. After being rejected by many American record labels, they signed with Columbia/CBS Records Canada and began recording their first album on March 20, 1980. Paul Warren Dean (born February 19, 1946 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian musician and the lead guitarist of the Canadian rock band Loverboy which reached huge fame in the early 1980s. Biography Growing up in Calgary, Alberta, Dean first started out playing washtub bass at the age of 12, followed by a plastic wind-up ukulele, which he received for Christmas at 13. He received his first guitar 2 months later, an acoustic, which he commenced to smash using it as a badminton racket. He next saved to buy his first electric guitar later that summer. Richie Zito (born August 21, 1952) is an American songwriter, composer and record producer from Los Angeles. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Zito has experienced success as a prolific session musician, being featured on a wide array of other artists' recordings, including work with Joe Cocker, White Lion, Poison, Mr. Big, Neil Sedaka, Yvonne Elliman, Eric Carmen, Art Garfunkel, Leo Sayer, Diana Ross, Marc Tanner, Elton John, Cher, The Motels, as well as The Cult, Eddie Money, Heart, Juliet Simms, Bad English and Prism. Doug Cox (born in 1962 or 1963) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and music programmer, and is currently signed to Toronto's NorthernBlues Music. He is well known for his skills on the dobro and slide guitar. Cox is the first person from Canada to perform in the Dobrofest. In 2004, Cox collaborated with Todd Butler and produced the CD, ''Dobro and Guitar'', which received a nomination from the Western Canadian Music Awards for "best roots music". The CD was also named "CD of the year" at the Vancouver Island Music Festival. Cox teamed with Indian veena player Salil Bhatt on two albums: ''Slide to Freedom'' in 2011 and ''Slide to Freedom 2'' in 2012. ''The Rock'' is the sixth solo studio album by English musician John Entwistle of the Who. It was Entwistle's first album since '' Too Late the Hero'' in 1981, and his only solo album to be issued by Griffin Music. The album was recorded over a period of eighteen months between 1985 and 1986 at Entwistle's Hammerhead Studios in Gloucestershire. It was originally planned for release by WEA in 1986 but it was not officially released until ten years later. The album has been released in four different editions between 1996 and 2005, each time with different artwork.
