Hemnes Sandhåland
Hemnes is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Korgen. Other villages include Bjerka, Bleikvasslia, Hemnesberget, and Sund. The municipality sits south of the Ranfjorden and stretches south and east toward the border with Sweden. The Nordland Line and European route E6 cross Hemnes on their way to the town of Mo i Rana about to the northeast. The E6 highway enters Hemnes from the west through the Korgfjell Tunnel from Vefsn. The municipality is the 49th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Hemnes is the 194th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 4,420. Akershus

Elsfjord (municipality)
Elsfjord is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1929 until its dissolution in 1962. The municipality included the area around the Elsfjorden and the valley leading up to the fjord. The municipality is now a part of Vefsn Municipality. Sør-Rana
Sør-Rana is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1929 until 1964 (Hemnes Municipality was also named ''Sør-Rana'' from 1838 until 1844). Sør-Rana encompassed an area on both sides of the middle section of the Ranfjorden around where the Sørfjorden and Elsfjorden branch off the main fjord. Nesna
Nesna is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Nesna. Other villages in Nesna include Handnesneset, Husby, Saura, and Vikholmen. The municipality consists of the three islands Tomma, Hugla (known as "Hugløy" by its inhabitants), and Handnesøya, and one peninsula that bears the name of the municipality, Nesna. Bardalssjøen
Bardal is a village in the municipality of Leirfjord in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located along the south coast of the Ranfjorden, about west of the village of Hemnesberget. The village surrounds the Bardalselva river which flows into the fjord. The Bardal Church was built in 1887 on a hill near the mouth of the river. The Bardal area has historically been part of both Nesna Municipality (to the north) and Hemnes Municipality (to the east), but it has been part of Leirfjord Municipality since 1964. Korgen is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1918 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality included the central part of what is now Hemnes Municipality, centered around the river Røssåga. The administrative centre was the village of Korgen where Korgen Church is located. () is the name for Norwegian local self-government districts that were legally enacted on 1 January 1838. This system of municipalities was created in a bill approved by the Parliament of Norway and signed into law by King Carl Johan on 14 January 1837. Nord-Rana (historically: ''Mo herred'') is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1839 until its dissolution in 1964. Korgfjell Tunnel
The Korgfjell Tunnel () is an long road tunnel in Nordland county, Norway. The tunnel connects Knutli in Vefsn Municipality with the village of Korgen in Hemnes Municipality. Work on the tunnel started in September 2001 and it was opened on 16 September 2005. The tunnel replaced a narrow, steep, twisting mountain road and shortened the European route E6 highway by . The travel time was shortened by 10–20 minutes. Before the tunnel, trucks with trailers were often stuck going uphill or downhill in snowy conditions, blocking the road. The place was considered one of the worst places on the E6 highway. The mountain road which reaches in altitude was built by the Germans during World War II, replacing a ferry connection at Elsfjord.
