Helsinki Times
''Helsinki Times'' is the first English language daily online newspaper in Finland providing news about Finland and the world for English-speaking readers resident in the country. A weekly printed edition was issued between 2007 and 2015. History and profile ''Helsinki Times'' was established in April 2007 by Iranian-born doctor, writer, journalist and director Alexis Kouros who settled in Finland in 1990. A paper version was published in tabloid format. and was eventually discontinued in February 2015. However, until today, ''helsinkitimes.fi'' is updated several times per day with domestic news about Finland in English, resulting in a huge archive of Finland related articles compiled of a good number of original and translated articles. Mikhail Gorbachev
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (2 March 1931 – 30 August 2022) was a Soviet politician who served as the 8th and final leader of the Soviet Union from 1985 to dissolution of the Soviet Union, the country's dissolution in 1991. He served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 and additionally as head of state beginning in 1988, as Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet from 1988 to 1989, Chairman of the Supreme Soviet from 1989 to 1990 and the only President of the Soviet Union from 1990 to 1991. Ideologically, Gorbachev initially adhered to Marxism–Leninism but moved towards social democracy by the early 1990s. Expatriate
An expatriate (often shortened to expat) is a person who resides outside their native country. Maria Guzenina
Maria Edith Guzenina (née Stieren, previously Guzenina-Richardson and Lindell; born 12 January 1969 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish politician who became a household name in Finland after working as the first Finnish VJ for MTV Europe from 1993 until 1997. Her career in journalism started in the late 1980s, when only at the age of 17 and still a student in high school she became a co-host of a famous Finnish television personality Timo T. A. Mikkonen in his daily magazine-type program. Since then she has hosted several television programs and shows for the Finnish National Broadcasting Company, hosted several radio talk shows and has written articles and columns for numerous Finnish newspapers and magazines. Pertti Olavi "Veltto" Virtanen (born 18 May 1951 in Hämeenlinna) is a rock personality, former presidential candidate, and former member of the Finnish Parliament from Tampere, Finland. In music he performed both as a solo artist and in the bands Virtanen (with Moog Konttinen), Välikausitakki and Sammas. Jutta Pauliina Urpilainen (born 4 August 1975 in Lapua) is a Finnish politician. She was the first female chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Finland, which she led from 2008 to 2014. Giovanni Buttarelli (24 June 1957 – 20 August 2019) was an Italian civil servant, who served as the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). Cynthia Ann McKinney (born March 17, 1955) is an American politician, academic, and conspiracy theorist. As a member of the Democratic Party, she served six terms in the United States House of Representatives. She was the first African American woman elected to represent Georgia in the House. Yuri Fedotov
Yury Viktorovich Fedotov (russian: Юрий Викторович Федотов, 14 December 1947 – 16 June 2022) was a Russian diplomat. From 2010 to 2019 he served as executive director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and director-general of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) with the rank of Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Under-Secretary-General, after having previously served as the Ambassador of Russia to the United Kingdom. Fedotov graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1971. He has held many foreign service positions to the United Nations, UN and worked at Soviet Union, Soviet embassies in Algeria and India.
