Hello Singapore (Chinese: 狮城有约) is a news/current affairs programme produced by Mediacorp Channel 8. History The show replaced the current weekday broadcast of ''Singapore Today'' as well as half of the 7.00pm drama timeslot, airing weekdays from 6.30pm, premiering together with socio-drama , ''Healing Hands'' at 7.30pm. A repeat telecast of "Crosstalks" and the topic of the day will also be available the next weekday, 7.30am to 8.00am. Hello Singapore ended its broadcast at Caldecott Hill on 10 March 2017. On 13 March 2017, it was then moved to Mediacorp Campus at 1 Stars Avenue. Background The series is a weekday news/current affairs programme that will better reflect the sentiments and concerns of Singaporeans, combining news, current affairs and live discussions. Zhao Wenbei
Zhao Wen Bei (; pinyin: Zhào Wénbèi) is a Singapore-based Chinese news anchor for Hello Singapore, News Tonight and Singapore Today. Education Zhao graduated from Communications University of China in 2002. Career Zhao used to be China's CCTV-4 news anchor in 2002. In 2005, Zhao left CCTV-4 and first joined MediaCorp Channel U, to be the news anchor of News World @ 11 《11点新闻》, News Jab @ 9 《9点新闻》 together with Tung Soo Hua, Zhang Haijie and Serene Loo. Youyi (actress)
Lin Youyi (born Iriana Halim; 11 October 1980), is a Singaporean television host, current affairs presenter, and an actress. She began her career as a radio DJ before being signed to Mediacorp as a television presenter in 2008, after which she went into acting and hosting on television programmes. Youyi was awarded the Best Current Affairs Presenter award for ''Good Morning Singapore'' at Star Awards 2012''.'' She is currently one of the anchors for ''Hello Singapore'' on Mediacorp Channel 8. Wang Zheng (; pinyin: Wáng Zhēng) is a Singaporean-based Chinese News Anchor for Hello Singapore, News Tonight and Singapore Today. Mediacorp Channel 8
Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean free-to-air television channel, airing in Mandarin Chinese. It was created by Mediacorp, Television Singapura on 31 August 1963 with experimental broadcasts, before going official on 23 November that year. The channel's logo is a yellow number 8 on top of a red disc. History Channel 8 began its test transmissions on Saturday, 31 August 1963, Malaysia's national day. Its first day consisted of a Hokkien film, repeats of India's participation in the South East Asian Cultural Festival and Singapore Celebrates. 8world News is a department which produces news, current affairs, and info-ed programmes for two Mediacorp channels aired in Mandarin, Channels 8 and U. Prior to 2010, the news were presented in three timeslots - ''News 8 At One'' (Chinese:1点新闻), which airs daily; ''Singapore Today'' (Chinese:狮城6点半), and ''News 8 at 10''. (Chinese:10点新闻). With the reduction of MediaCorp News Group employees and the increased demand for more variety programme content on Channel U, MediaCorp announced that the news programmes on Channel U would end with effect from 29 March 2010. Caldecott Hill
Caldecott Hill is a private housing estate, located along Thomson Road in the Central Region of Singapore. It is tied to the growth of the media industry in Singapore. In the past, Singapore's broadcast station, Mediacorp was located there. The Caldecott Broadcast Centre opened in 1954. In 2017, Mediacorp moved to its new campus on Stars Avenue, one-north. After Mediacorp moved, the old campus at Andrew Road was left abandoned until October 2020 where they appointed real estate consultants to market the area to hold 67 bungalow plots. In December 2020, the land was sold for $280.9million to a private estate company. It was also referred to as "The Hill" by the local media and Mediacorp employees.
