Hellenic Front
The Hellenic Front ( el, Ελληνικό Μέτωπο) was a Greek political party with an ultranationalist platform, founded in 1994. Its declared ''raison d'être'' was to raise national conscience and inspire freedom, creativity, and development by reversing what it sees as dependence on foreign economies and ideas. It advocated creation of a “National Opposition Front” to build an effective and credible alternative to the current two-party system. On social matters, the party has supported populist policies such as the re-introduction of the death penalty (long abolished in Greece), specifically as a sentence for drug dealers. Makis Voridis, a lawyer, was the President of the Hellenic Front. Makis Voridis
Mavroudis (Makis) Voridis ( el, Μαυρουδής (Μάκης) Χρήστου Βορίδης) (born 23 August 1964) is a Greek politician and lawyer. His previous and current involvement with far-right rhetoric and past association with dictator Georgios Papadopoulos has made him a controversial figure in Greek politics. A member of the Hellenic Parliament for New Democracy since 2012, he currently serves as the Minister for the Interior in the Cabinet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He previously served as Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Networks in the Cabinet of Lucas Papademos (2011–2012), Minister for Health in the Cabinet of Antonis Samaras (2014–2015), and Minister for Rural Development and Food in the original Mitsotakis cabinet (2019–2021). EuroNat was an organisation of European ultranationalist political parties, formed initially at the congress of the French National Front (FN) in Strasbourg on 30 March 1997.Mareš, 2006, p. 11. It had a loose organisational structure, and was in practice based on coordination by activities of the FN. The organisation failed to attract much support in Western Europe, as FN leader Jean-Marie Le Pen was more successful in gathering support in Eastern Europe.
