''Hellboy: Weird Tales'' is a Dark Horse Comics bimonthly eight-issue comic book Limited series (comics), limited series that offered a variety of guest writers and artists the chance to give their own take on the ''Hellboy'' characters created by Mike Mignola whilst he was in Prague working on the first ''Hellboy (2004 film), Hellboy'' movie. The issues were published bi-monthly to alternate with a series of B.P.R.D.: The Soul of Venice and Other Stories, ''B.P.R.D.'' one-shots and were collected in two trade paperback volumes. Dark Horse Comics is an American comic book, graphic novel, and manga publisher founded in Milwaukie, Oregon by Mike Richardson in 1986. The company was created using funds earned from Richardson's chain of Portland, Oregon comic book shops known as Pegasus Books and founded in 1980. Dark Horse Comics has emerged as the fourth largest comic publishing company in the United States of America. Andrew Watson (born 1969) is a British cartoonist and illustrator best known for the graphic novels ''Breakfast After Noon'', ''Slow News Day'' and his series ''Skeleton Key'' and ''Love Fights'', published by Oni Press and Slave Labor Graphics. Watson has also worked for more mainstream American comic publishers including DC Comics, a twelve-issue limited series at Marvel Comics, several series for Dark Horse Comics, and Image Comics. Randy Stradley (born March 4, 1956) is an American comic book writer and editor, who spent 35 years in an executive position at Dark Horse Comics.
