Major-General Sir Harry Christopher Tytler KCB CMG CIE DSO (26 September 1867 – 16 May 1939) was a British Indian Army officer who specialised in running lines of communication, and also an amateur naturalist.Biography, ''Who Was Who'' Tytler was born in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, the son of Colonel Robert Christopher Tytler, a retired officer of the East India Company Army and his wife Harriet. Butterflies are insects in the macrolepidopteran clade Rhopalocera from the Order (biology), order Lepidoptera, which also includes moths. Adult butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. Lycaenidae is the second-largest family of butterflies (behind Nymphalidae, brush-footed butterflies), with over 6,000 species worldwide, whose members are also called gossamer-winged butterflies. They constitute about 30% of the known butterfly species. The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), founded on 15 September 1883, is one of the largest non-governmental organisations in India engaged in conservation and biodiversity research. It supports many research efforts through grants and publishes the ''Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society''. Many prominent naturalists, including the ornithologists Sálim Ali and S. Dillon Ripley, have been associated with it. History British hunters in Bombay organized a hunting group around 1811, their activities included riding with foxhounds and shooting.
