Heidi Hanlon
Heidi Hanlon (born October 9, 1958, in Harvey, New Brunswick) is a Canadians, Canadian curling, curler from Saint John, New Brunswick. Hanlon is an 11-time New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts, provincial women's champion skip, provincial mixed champion and two-time provincial women's seniors championship. She became a Canadian champion for the first time by winning the 2011 Canadian Senior Curling Championships. It was the first women's title for the province. She has played in 11 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Her first Hearts was in 1987, where she finished with a 4–7 record. In 1989, she improved with a 7–4 record, and lost in tie-breaker to Julie Skinner, Julie Sutton. In 1990, she finished 5–6. In 1991, she finished the round robin with an 8–3 record. She won her semi final match against Ontario's Heather Houston, but lost to Julie Sutton once again, in the final of the 1991 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Harvey, New Brunswick
Harvey is a formerly incorporated village in York County, New Brunswick, York County, in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of New Brunswick. It is often called Harvey Station. Situated at the southeastern end of Harvey Lake, the village is approximately 35 km southwest of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Fredericton. She is from Red Rock, Ontario and curls out of the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Curling career Houston won the 1988 and 1991 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, skipping her team. She made her Scotties debut at the 1988 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The team had to win two tie-breakers before winning two playoff games to claim the championship. They defeated the defending champion Pat Sanders. At the 1988 World Championships, the team won the silver medal, losing to Germany's Andrea Schöpp in the final. The Hearts victory gave them a berth at the 1989 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Tårnby
Tårnby () is a town in Denmark, the seat of Tårnby Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark. It is located approximately south of central Copenhagen on the island of Amager. Neighbouring settlements include the Copenhagen suburb of Sundbyvester to the north and Kastrup to the south. Copenhagen Airport is situated to the east of Tårnby. It includes the islets Saltholm and Peberholm. Christine "Chris" Jurgenson ( Bodogh; born c. 1953) is a Canadian curler from British Columbia. She is a former World Champion, and was lead for the championship team at the World Senior Curling Championship in 2009 and skip for the 2011 World Senior Curling Championships . Jurgenson grew up in Ontario, where she played with her sister, Marilyn Bodogh. She won her first provincial title in 1980. She skipped Ontario to a 7–5 record at the 1980 Canadian Ladies Curling Association Championship. In 1983, she played in Alberta, and made her second national championship, playing second for Cathy Shaw. At the 1983 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the team lost 5–4 to Nova Scotia, skipped by Penny LaRocque. In 1986, she was back playing with her sister in Ontario, playing second for her. Canadian Mixed Curling Championship
The Canadian Mixed Curling Championship is the national curling championship for mixed curling in Canada. The winners of the tournament will represent Canada at the World Mixed Curling Championship. In mixed curling, the positions on a team must alternate between men and women. If a man throws last rocks, which is usually the case, the women must throw lead rocks and third rocks, while the other male member of the team throws second rocks. In 2004, Shannon Kleibrink became the only woman to skip a team and win a Canadian Mixed championship. History The Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was established in 1964, with Canadian Breweries as the event's sponsor and Frank Sargent (sports executive), Frank Sargent as its committee chairman.
