Simpsorama
"Simpsorama" is the sixth episode of the twenty-sixth season of the animated television series ''The Simpsons'', and the 558th episode of the series overall. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on November 9, 2014. This episode is a crossover with creator Matt Groening's other animated series ''Futurama'' that previously aired on Fox. The episode's title is a portmanteau of the titles of each series. Plot At Springfield Elementary School, Principal Skinner is showing Bart's class a time capsule intended to be opened a thousand years later and tells the students to each put something inside. Bart, having forgotten to bring something to put in it, puts a sandwich that he blows his nose into. At a ceremony, Mayor Quimby lowers the time capsule into the town square in front of the statue of Jebediah Springfield. When they dig up the hole, they notice some green ooze pouring out. Futurama
''Futurama'' is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series follows the adventures of the professional slacker Philip J. Fry, who is cryogenically preserved for 1000 years and revived on December 31, 2999. Fry finds work at an interplanetary delivery company, working alongside the one-eyed Leela and robot Bender. The series was envisioned by Groening in the mid-1990s while working on ''The Simpsons''; he brought David X. Cohen aboard to develop storylines and characters to pitch the show to Fox. Following its initial cancelation by Fox, ''Futurama'' began airing reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block, which lasted from 2003 to 2007. Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth, commonly referred to in-show as either Professor Farnsworth or simply Professor, is a fictional character in the American animated television series '' Futurama''. The mad scientist proprietor of the Planet Express delivery service for whom the main characters work, he is the great (×30) grandnephew and the great (×31) grandson of series protagonist Philip J.
