Hear Me (film)
''Hear Me'' (Chinese: 聽說) is a 2009 Taiwanese romantic comedy film written and directed by Taiwanese director Cheng Fen-fen. It stars Eddie Peng, Ivy Chen and Michelle Chen. The film is notable for its use of sign language for the better part of the film. The movie was filmed in Taipei, Taiwan, and was premiered on August 28, 2009, to dedicate to the Deaflympics held in Taipei at the same year. Production Development In 2007, director Cheng wrote the script inspired from a book she read that was said to be written by a hearing person who fell in love with a hearing impaired person. Plot Tian-Kuo (Eddie Peng) is a genial boy in his early twenties living with his parents, running deliveries for their small family-run restaurant, biking box lunches all over the city. He often stops at the local swimming pool, dropping off orders for the team of deaf athletes who train there. Peggy Chiao
Peggy Chiao is a Taiwanese/Chinese filmmaker, producer, distributor, educator, juror, critic, and author. She is known internationally as the "godmother of New Taiwan Cinema". In 1997, Chiao established Arc Light Films, a production company with pan-Chinese ambition which has produced films with directors like Ann Hui, Stanley Kwan, Wang Xiaoshuai, Olivier Assayas, Yi Chih-yen, Kenny Bi, etc. Since then, Chiao has produced critically and commercially successful films encompassing many genres and themes. The 2009 Summer Deaflympics (), officially known as the XXI Summer Deaflympic Games and commonly known as Taipei 2009, is an international multi-sport event that was celebrated from 5 to 15 September 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan (Republic of China). Eddie Peng
Eddie Peng Yu-Yan (; born 24 March 1982) is a Taiwanese actor, singer and model. Personal life Peng was born in Penghu, Taiwan. He moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the age of thirteen. In 2000, he graduated from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. Subsequently, he was admitted to the University of British Columbia and majored in economics, but later dropped out to begin his acting career.
