HealthBridge is a service line of The Health Collaborative, a not-for-profit corporation located in Cincinnati, Ohio. HealthBridge supports health information technology (HIT) adoption, health information exchange (HIE), and innovative use of information for improved health care outcomes. HealthBridge is recognized as one of the nation’s largest, most advanced, and most financially sustainable health information exchange (HIE) organizations. Health information exchange (HIE) is the mobilization of health care information electronically across organizations within a region, community or hospital system. Participants in data exchange are called in the aggregate Health Information Networks (HIN). In practice, the term HIE may also refer to the health information organization (HIO) that facilitates the exchange. HIE provides the capability to electronically move clinical information among different health care information systems.
