Hazboun (Arabic:حزبون) is the surname of a native Christian family from Bethlehem, a town in the West Bank (Palestine). The Hazboun family's legendary history is said to have included ancestors from the royal family in Portugal that migrated to The Holy Land (Bethlehem, Palestine) during one of The Crusades. Although the family name predates paper records, church records indicate that the common documented ancestor of the living family, was born in Ottoman Palestine (region), Palestine in 1610, was called Sulaiman Hazboun. The Hazboun family name originally comes from biblical Heshbon in central Jordan, now Hisban. Ibrahim Yousef Ibrahim Hazboun (b. October 18, 1947) is a Palestinian astrologer who was born in Bethlehem city in the West Bank. He is a well-known figure in the Middle East. Heshbon

Franzi Hato Hasbún Barake (1946 in San Salvador – 30 August 2017) was a Salvadoran politician of Palestinian origin. He was a sociologist and a specialist in political, electoral, international cooperation. He was further well versed in matters relating to public opinion. Hasbún held a master's degree in sociology, philosophy and journalism research. Since 2009 he holds the reins of the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency. From July 2012 holds the post of Minister of Education, after the vice-president, Salvador Sanchez Ceren, renounce the ministry of state.
