Hayreddin Barbarossa ( ar, خير الدين بربروس, Khayr al-Din Barbarus, original name: Khiḍr; tr, Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa), also known as Hızır Hayrettin Pasha, and simply Hızır Reis (c. 1466/1478 – 4 July 1546), was an Ottoman empire, Ottoman Barbary pirates, corsair and later Kapudan Pasha, admiral of the Ottoman Navy. Barbarossa's naval victories secured Ottoman dominance over the Mediterranean during the mid 16th century. As the son of a soldier named Yakup, who took part in the Turkish conquest of Lesbos Born on Midilli (Lesbos), Khizr began his naval career as a corsair under his elder brother Oruç Reis. In 1516, the brothers Capture of Algiers (1516), captured Algiers from Spain, with Oruç declaring himself Sultan. Hayrettin Yerlikaya
Hayrettin Yerlikaya (born 13 August 1981) is a Turkish footballer who last played as a left back for Sivasspor in the Süper Lig. Club career Yerlikaya has spent his entire professional career with hometown club Sivasspor. The club transferred him from amateur club Sivas Çimentospor in 1999. He made his domestic cup debut on 27 October 1999 against Yimpaş Yozgatspor, starting the match and being substituted out in the 52nd minute. It wasn't until the second half of the 2000–01 when Yerlikaya won his first league cap. He started the match against İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor on 25 February 2001, playing the entire ninety minutes. In total, he participated in nine TFF Second League matches that season, en route to gaining promotion to the TFF First League. Hakan Hayrettin (born 4 February 1970) is an English football manager and former player who was most recently head coach of Maidstone United. Early life Hayrettin was born in Enfield, London to Turkish Cypriot parents. Playing career Hayrettin began his career as an apprentice with Leyton Orient, turning professional in July 1988. He was released without breaking into the first team, joining Barnet in August 1989. In 1990, he signed for Turkish side Karsiyaka, but his Turkish parentage would have made him eligible for national service, and the prospect of war with the situation deteriorating in the Gulf, so he resigned at Barnet who later won the Conference and with it promotion to the Football League. He joined Torquay United on loan in January 1993, also playing on loan for Wycombe Wanderers that season as they too won the Conference. He also played in their FA Trophy winning side. Hayredin ( bg, Хайредин, ; also transliterated ''Hajredin'' or ''Hairedin'') is a village in northwestern Bulgaria, part of Vratsa Province. It is the administrative centre of Hayredin Municipality, which lies in the northwestern part of Vratsa Province.
