Hawijch Elders
Hawijch Elders is a Dutch violinist born on 31 October 1998. Biography Elders started violin lessons at the age of six at Mea Fontijn, and from 2011-2016 she received violin lessons and chamber music lessons from Benzion Shamir. She has been following her violin training with Ilya Grubert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam since 2016, where she completed the Bachelor of Music (2020) and Master of Music (2022) degree programmes with highest distinction. Since September 2022, she is Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, where she studies with Augustin Dumay. She received many prizes and awards at national and international violin competitions. In May 2023, Hawijch Elders won the first prize at the 8th International Violin Competition Henri Marteau, with a performance of Paganini's first violin concerto with the Hofer Symphoniker conducted by Christoph-Mathias Mueller, and she received special awards for the interpretation of works by Johann Sebastian Bach ... International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition
The International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, named after Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, is a competition for violinists up to age 30. It is held every five years in Helsinki. The first competition took place in year 1965, eight years after the death of the composer to mark the centenary of the composer's birth. The competition is arranged by the Sibelius Society of Finland and the Sibelius Academy. The competition has always had high-level competitors, and winners such as Oleg Kagan, Viktoria Mullova, and Leonidas Kavakos have become internationally performing soloists. The popularity amongst the players might be explained by the location of the competition: Finland connecting western Europe and USSR was probably considered safe enough by the Soviet authority to allow players to attend the competition. The Paganini Competition (aka Premio Paganini or Paganini Concore) is an international violin competition named after the famed virtuoso and founder of contemporary violin technique Niccolò Paganini. Created in 1954 it has been carried out ever since in the months of September and October. The "Paganini Competition" is one of the most important violin competitions. Jean Pierre Marie Persois
Jean Pierre Marie Persoit ersois'' - (1782/83? in Mirecourt – after 1854) was a great and intriguing French bowmaker or ''Archetier''. One of the first bowmakers to be hired by the young Jean Baptiste Vuillaume. Persoit seems to have worked in this studio for at least 15 years (1823–41 according to Millant; 1828–43 according to Étienne Vatelot). It nevertheless remains difficult to recognize his work under the Vuillaume stamp. His best bows, are remarkably close to the François Tourte style (especially those with octagonal sticks), though there are small but telling differences: the octagonals are not so sharply planed; the heads are rather more squared; the frogs are more solid and with shallower throats; and the distinctive buttons have unequally wide bands which cover most of the ebony. Gagliano is the name of a famous family of Italian luthiers from Naples, dating back to the early 18th century. The Gagliano dynasty – particularly Alessandro, Nicolò I and Gennaro – are considered the high point of Neapolitan violin making. The Vienna Chamber Orchestra (Wiener Kammer Orchester, or WKO) is an Austrian chamber orchestra based at the Vienna Konzerthaus. History The WKO was founded in 1946, and its first artistic directors were Franz Litschauer, Heinrich Hollreiser, Paul Angerer, and Carlo Zecchi. When he took over the position from 1976 to 1991, Philippe Entremont started a tradition of conductors playing a dual rôle, appearing as both conductor and soloist. Het Residentie Orkest (literal translation, ''The Residence Orchestra''; known also in English as ''Residentie Orkest The Hague'') is a Dutch orchestra based in The Hague. The orchestra is currently resident at the Amare performing arts centre in The Hague. History Henri Viotta founded the orchestra in 1904.
