2015 Tanzanian General Election
General elections were held in Tanzania on 25 October 2015. Voters elected the president, members of Parliament, and local government councillors. By convention, the election was held on the last Sunday of October and was supervised by the National Electoral Commission (NEC). Political campaigns commenced on 22 August and ceased a day before the polling day. The incumbent president, Jakaya Kikwete, was ineligible to be elected to a third term because of term limits. This year's election was seen as the most competitive and unpredictable in the nation's history. The government had warned politicians t ...

During the normal dry season of at least five months the water continues to flow from springs at the edge of the Makonde Plateau. Ndanda has a major hospital which was also built by the Benedictines but now has some Government support. The Abbey has busy workshops for vehicle maintenance, construction, electrical installation, shoemaking, tailoring, metalwork, plumbing, carpentry and furniture making. Tanzanian Muslims

The faith was introduced by merchants visiting the Swahili coast, as it became connected to a larger maritime trade network dominated by Muslims. On the mainland, Muslim communities are concentrated in coastal areas, with some large Muslim majorities also in inland urban areas especially and along the former caravan routes. More than 99% of the population of the Zanzibar archipelago is Muslim. The largest group of Muslims in Tanzania are Sunni Muslim, with significant Shia and Ahmadi minorities. According to the Pew Research Center research conducted in 2008 and 2009, 40% of the Muslim population of Tanzania identifi ...
