Havelian ( ) is the second largest municipality in the Abbottabad District, in the Hazara Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It serves as the headquarters for Havelian Tehsil. The word literally translates into English as "mansions". The outskirts of the city are also home to one of the largest ordnance factories of Pakistan, Pakistan Ordnance Factories Havelian. An ordnance depot also exists in the vicinity of the city and the factory. Geography Havelian is located on the Karakoram Highway and on the banks of , about 15.5 kilometers south west of Abbottabad. Transport Havelian's main public transport consist of auto rickshaws, modified Suzuki pickup vehicles, tongs, which can accommodate anywhere from 8 to 13 people at a time. Taxis and automobiles for hire are also available. Vans and buses are frequently used for connecting Havelian to the surrounding cities and towns in the region. Hazara Motorway
The M-15 Motorway, also known as the Hazara Motorway (Hindko/ ur, , ps, د هزاره موټروې), is a 180 kilometer controlled-access motorway linking the Burhan Interchange near Hasan Abdal in the Punjab province with Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shinkiari, Battagram, and Thakot in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The project is divided into seven packages - the first four (from Burhan to Mansehra) have been completed and were inaugurated on 27 December 2017, 18 November 2019 and last were 3 sections inaugurated in July 2020.The Hasan Abdal and Havelian section was financed by the Asian Development Bank, along with a grant from the United Kingdom while the Havelian to Shinkiari and Shinkiari to Thakot section of the motorway was financed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Khunjerab Pass
Khunjerab Pass (; ; ug, قونجىراپ ئېغىزى) is a mountain pass in the Karakoram Mountains, in a strategic position on the northern border of Pakistan (Gilgit–Baltistan's Hunza and Nagar Districts) and on the southwest border of China (Xinjiang). Mutsjliga Pass is a mountain pass at near Khunjerab Pass. Etymology Its name is derived from two words of the local Wakhi language: "khun" means blood and "jerab" means a creek coming from a spring or waterfall. Notability The Khunjerab Pass is the highest-paved international border crossing in the world and the highest point on the Karakoram Highway.
